This project aims to celebrate two elements of visual culture and history not only of design but of humankind: magazines and typography. Starting with the definition and history of how magazines emerged, what they were and are now, this article also conceptualizes, relates and defines spoken language, writing, calligraphy, lettering and typography. It conceptually addresses the relationship between typography and text, journalism and editorial design, and the functions of lettering and typography as tools for readability and expression.
Then it delves into the subject of custom display typographies created for magazines, taking a look at pioneer designers in this type of project and contemporary case studies of lettering and typography developed for magazines by their art directors and typographers.

Este projeto tem como objetivo celebrar dois elementos da cultura visual e da história não só do design mas da humanidade: as revistas e a tipografia. Iniciando pela definição e história de como surgiram, o que foram e são as revistas, este artigo também conceitua, relaciona e define linguagem falada, escrita, caligrafia, lettering e tipografia.
